Children's Care

Children and parents alike can benefit from receiving care and support at home.

The Right Level of Support and Flexibility

Children who require personal and nursing care often have a wide range of impairments, which makes it difficult for them to perform daily tasks themselves – and there are difficulties for their parents and families when they try to help. To minimise these challenges as much as possible, the nursing team at HH Care Services can provide nursing and domiciliary care to children under the age of 18. The children that we work with may have a combination of the following needs:

  • Physical disabilities (such as cerebral palsy and epilepsy)
  • Learning disabilities (such as dyslexia and ADHD)
  • Complex needs (such as enteral feeding and muscular atrophy)
  • Autism
  • Sensory impairments (such as blindness and deafness)
  • Long-term physical and terminal illnesses

About Our Children’s Care Services

The highly trained and experienced staff at HH Care Services can provide a range of services to meet the personalised needs of our young service users:

Personal Care Visits

The frequency and intensity of these visits can vary according to the specific needs of the service user.

24-Hour/Live-In Care

If your child requires round-the-clock care, our 24-hour or live-in service will ensure that there’s always someone available.

12-Hour Shifts

This service can ensure that your child has support when they need it, either during the day or overnight.

Short Breaks or Respite Care

Being a carer for a child with complex needs can be exhausting, which is why we offer respite care to give parents a break.

Social and Educational Activities Support

Getting children involved in activities they enjoy, both inside and outside the home, is essential for their wellbeing.

How Children’s Care Can Help

Many in the healthcare industry believe that care at home produces better outcomes for children and young people. This is because it offers both children and their families several benefits:

Flexible
Support

We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach to providing care – your child can receive as much or as little assistance as they need. All care plans at HH Care Services are personalised according to the specific needs, interests, and home environments of the service user.

Home
Comforts

Children can receive the same level of care that they would in a hospital setting without needing to leave the safety or familiarity of their home. Limiting family separation and keeping them in surroundings they recognise improves their quality of life.

Reduces
Hospitalisations

As care is provided by highly skilled nurses, their knowledge and proactive approach can actually help to reduce instances of hospital readmissions for the service user (when compared with families who choose to manage their child’s complex needs on their own).

Frequently Asked Questions About Children’s Care

We are able to provide care services to children of all ages, with service users divided into bands according to their age – 0-3 years old, 4-12 years old, and 13-18 years old.

There are many reasons why you should choose us over other providers. All care that we provide is managed and supervised by our team of complex care nurses, plus we offer our staff in-house specialist training to meet the individual needs of our service users. We also hold regular meetings (including weekly safeguarding meetings) to review any issues and adapt our procedures where required.

Our care plans are personalised to meet the specific needs of the service user and requests from their family. Some tasks we may perform include helping with personal care and feeding, getting ready in the morning or for bed at night, and supporting the family in establishing daily routines.
